Norton Hand Stone
The Norton Hand Stone can be used as a bench sharpening stone or hand held and addressed to the workpiece to ‘lap’ a larger surface area. This stone is ideal for putting a keen edge on wide blade cutting tools and removal of slight imperfections from flat, uncoated metal surfaces. Lubricate the stone prior to each use with a light machine oil – heavy oils tend to ‘load’ the surface and reduce the effectiveness of the stone. If the stone surface becomes clogged or ‘loaded’, clean with kerosene and a stiff fibre brush.
